Prophet Ibrahim is the best of the Messengers of Allah after Muhammad
He is also called "the friend of Allah"
Allah made Ibrahim accepted by everyone
The Christians accept Ibrahim and accept him as a Prophet
The Jews respect Ibrahim and look up to him as a Prophet
He was born in Iraq
At the time he was born the people were worshipping idols
His father's name was "Aazr"
Aazr used to make these dolls and sell it to people
He would watch his father carve out these dolls and he would sell it to people,
and the people would prostrate to these dolls. He was shocked at this
He used to use Ibrahim to sell these dolls to people
When his father would give him the dolls to go sell it to people he would take them
to a rive and drown them while saying " SAVE YOURSELF! SAVE YOURSELF! YOU ARE DROWNING! If you cannot save yourself how can you save me?"
From that young age of only seven Ibrahim rejected the concept of worshipping idols,
and when he was old enough he was able to speak out
When he got older he would ask the people why they worship such idols?
And the people would respond they will continue to worship these idols and will not stop
He would then ask them "Do they hear you when you supplicate? Can
they harm you or benefit you in any way?"
They responded "We found our forefathers worshipping idols"
They did not say yes or no
" O my father, knowledge has come to me that did not come to you.
So follow me and I will show you the right path, I will show you guidance"
He told his father that the idea of worshipping idols is ridiculous and his father would
respond and tell him to be quiet, plus the render of profit he was making
made it impossible for him to stop
His father tells him, "if you do not stop asking these silly questions
I will stone you to death personally"
Imagine, his own father was saying this
When he would ask the people again why they worship such idols they would say
"we found our forefathers worshipping idols, so we do the same"
Ibrahim tells himself "Wallahi, I am going to destroy these idols.
I am going to destroy them"
The people used to go out on a festival, they would go out
and worship their idols. It was a must for everyone to come and partake.
When they asked Ibrahim to come along he would say
"I am sick and I cannot come"
Now remember, Ibrahim is a Prophet of Allah, he is naturally truthful.
When he said that he was "sick" he didn't really mean as if he was really physically sick
or not feeling well, he just meant as if he is sick of the idea of worshipping idols and he did not
want to partake
When he was alone with the dolls he looked at them and said "okay, yes, yes, talk to me"
"Talk to me, talk to me"
When the dolls did not respond he began hiting them and destroying them one after the other.
Except one, he leaves just one
He is asking them questions as he's doing this
"What's wrong? Why don't you speak with me?"
The people then came back from their festival all joyful after worshipping their gods.
Then they see the bedlam and they are shocked
"WHO DID THIS TO OUR GODS?"
One of them says it must be the only one that stayed behind, Ibrahim. And he is always talking bad about our idols
They then bring Ibrahim in for questioning
They ask him "Who did this to our gods?"
He replies, "Why don't you ask your god" He nudges towards the
only idol he left standing
The people say that Ibrahim is making fun of them and that he
is from the oppressors
"It IS YOU WHO IS FROM THE OPPRESSORS. BY WORSHIPPING THESE IDOLS
THAT CANNOT EVEN PROTECT THEMSELVES, SEE, SPEAK, HEAR"
The people go back to themselves and start saying
"Yes, this young man is making a really good point. If these were
powerful gods then they would have protected themselves"
Then they went back on their common sense, their logical sense
They decide to punish young Ibrahim and set him as an example
"BURN HIM TO DEATH!"
The people said that they was going to cast him in a great fire
" LET HIM FEEL THE BURN OF THE FIRE IN RETURN FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE TO OUR IDOLS!"
Everybody contributed in building the fire
The fire grew very big
The fire was so big that birds could not even fly above it because the smoke was so great
The fire was so great that the people were not even able to
go near it and throw Ibrahim in because it was so hot
They tied Ibrahim against a palm tree, and they threw him in
As he was being thrown in the Angel Jibrill came to him,
"O Ibrahim, do you need help?"
Ibrahim responded "from you, no, from Allah yes"
Ibrahim's belief in his Maker was solid
As he was being thrown into the fire he made Du'aa
"Allah is enough for me and he is the best disposer of affairs"
Allah said to the fire, "O fire, become cool and be a means of peace for Ibrahim"
The chains and rope the people had on him breaks and he walks out the fire
He does not have a scratch on him
The people are shocked as they stare at him in disbelief
Then they walk away, they don't dare touch Ibrahim
Who would dare touch this young man? We threw him in a fire
that was big enough to burn a whole nation and he walks out fine
A young man gets up and says "I want to follow you, these people are wrong and you are right"
Who was this young man?
His name was Lut, his nephew
Lut AS was also a Prophet
Though he hadn't receive Prophethood yet, he was still a young boy
He saw everything, watched it, then he said "I surrender tp whoever made me as well"
Subhān Allāh
Lut and Ibrahim teamed up. More people began to harrass them though
They decided that they cannot worship Allah properly in this area
