Jason stood over his wife. He looked at her as she was sprawled on the couch, her arms over her head and her legs laid on top of each other slightly bent. She was breathing heavily and Jason could still see bits of water spurting out of her crevice. Her eyes were open wide looking forward, her head was laid on the couch as she continued breathing hard.
“Get up!” Jason said again.
Christy heard him and immediately she knew what to do. She pressed both of her palms down on the couch and she pushed down with all her weight as she tried to get up. When her midsection had risen halfway up, she collapsed and fell back down on the couch.
“What’s wrong baby?” Jason asked.
Christy was unable to respond. She laid there with her head on top of her forearm and continued breathing hard. Jason dropped his hands on the couch and he laid down next to her and pushed his lips close to her left earlobe.
“What’s wrong boo?” He asked again.
Christy gave a thin smile. She then took off the shirt that was wrapped around her eyes. She was now able to see Jason. She smiled as she gazed upon his countenance. Their eyes were both locked as their heads laid on the couch. Jason didn’t say anything, neither did Christy. After about a minute Christy gently shut her eyes and opened them up again.
“You BLINKED!” Jason said.
Christy smiled and began to laugh softly.
“What do you want Jason?”
Jason didn’t say anything as he thought for a minute.
“Bae I want you to tell me what’s wrong and why you not getting up?”
“Mhmm…” Christy said.
Jason didn’t say anything. He just continued to stare at her without blinking.
“They just…”
Jason continued to stare, he didn’t interrupt her. “They feel…” She said.
“What they feel like bae?” He asked.
“Weak bae, they feel like jelly.”
“Why they feel like that?” Jason asked.
Christy opened up her mouth and began smiling as she gaze at Jason in the eyes.
“You know bae… you did it.” She said.
Jason smiled back. “And what did I do?”
“Stop acting dumb.”
“I’m not.” He said.
“So you don’t know what you did?” Christy asked.
“Nope, I really don’t. Please tell me.”
Christy sighed and gave a wide smile. “You made a lot come out.”
“What does that mean?” He asked.
Christy jokingly punched Jason on the chest. “Boy stop acting stupid!”
Jason laughed. “I’m not, I really don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Mhmm…”
“Can you please tell me?” Jason asked.
Christy moved her head closer and laid it down on Jason’s chest. She put her hands underneath his White-T Shirt and began to caress his stomach.
“Later bae, I just wanna lay here.”
Jason lifted his head up. “Bae but I gotta go to the Barber Shop, my head wolfing.”
“In five minutes bae.” Christy quietly said as her head was laid on Jason’s chest.
“No, we gotta go now!” Jason said.
He then gently took Christy’s head off his chest and laid it softly on the pillow. He then dug his hand underneath Christy’s sides and lifted her up and threw her over his back. Christy erupted in laughter. She threw her hands over Jason’s neck.
“DON’T DROP ME!” She said in between laughter.
Jason then walked to the front door as Christy was sitting on top of his back and her hands over his shoulders. He opened the door and stepped out, then he closed the door behind him and started walking up the street.
“I won’t bae, I wouldn’t even dream of it. Don’t worry baby I got…”
Jason then tripped on his shoelace and collapsed on the ground. They both screamed out loud as they fell on the cemented concrete floor. Christy was able to cushion her fall by landing on Jason’s chest.
“OMG!” She said in between laughter.
“Jason omg, what happened?” She asked as she was on the ground trying to get up. Jason was right next to her on the floor, trying to get up as well.
He didn’t wanna tell her that he tripped on his shoelace and fell. He thought for a minute.
“Bae there was a blinding light!” He said.
“A UFO hovered above me and illuminated me with it’s light in an attempt to abduct us. Causing me to temporarily lose my balance, which is the reason as to why I fell.”
Jason placed his palms on the floor and got up, at the same time as Christy.
“Are you okay?” He asked her.
Christy began laughing. “A UFO though? Really?” She asked.
“YESS! Didn’t you see that jawn?”
Christy made a straight face as she stared at Jason. “No.”
“I didn’t.” She added.
Jason walked up to Christy and placed both his arms on her shoulder and began to rub up and down.
“Bae I just want you to know… That UFO was trying to abduct you but I wasn’t gonna let that happen okay boo? I’ma be your protector.”
Christy looked at Jason in the eyes and twisted her lip. “Mhmm hmm…”
Then she turned around and began walking again. Jason ran behind her and caught up and matched her pace as she was walking.
“Bae can I ask you a question?” Jason asked as he walked next to her.
“Yes Jason?” She said without turning her head to look at him.
“Bae are your legs feeling better?”
Christy nodded her head up and down.
“Are you able to walk?” He asked.
Christy stopped walking, she turned towards Jason and balled up her fists and dropped it to her sides.
“Boy what does it look like I’m doing?” She said, then she continued walking again.
“Can I ask you another question?”
“No.” She calmly said.
“Bae please, it’s really very important.” Jason said.
“It’s a life or death situation.” He added.
Christy slowed her pace as she was walking and she turned her head towards Jason.
“What is it?” She asked.
Jason then ran in front of her and he held her hand in his and gazed deep in her eyes.
“Bae please… I’m so hungry. I’m bouta die! Could you please go in the store and get me some Oreos and Apple Juice please?” Jason asked.
Jason had been in love with Oreos before. But ever since that day in the hospital when Abdul bought him some, and he bit into it and ate it all. His love for Oreos grew immensely.
“Jason I don’t have any money?” She said.
Jason looked at her in the eyes. He let go of her hand and went to the corner of the street and laid down next to the fire hydrant. His back was laid on the cemented floor, he began wailing and screaming out loud and crying. Christy looked at him on the floor and began laughing.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” She asked
This is how you act when you want something. Jason thought to himself.
Jason screamed and wailed louder, he continued to flap his arms to the side and he kicked his legs up multiple times. Some people who were walking on the street and a couple cars stopped and looked at him.
“Omg is he okay?” A middle aged lady said.
“What’s the matter with him?” Another lady asked, she was a bit older.
Christy hurriedly walked up to where Jason was laid at next to the fire hydrant.
“Bae you’re making a scene!” She said.
Jason ignored her statement and continued to wail.
“I WANT OREOS!” He said as he flapped his arms and kicked his legs up.
Christy watched Jason as he was laid on the cemented floor. She could not believe what she was seeing.
“Omg really? All this for some Oreos?” She thought.
“Bae okay I’m gonna buy it for you, just get up off the floor so we can go to the store and I’ll buy it for you okay?” She said.
Jason stopped wailing and screaming. He lifted his head up and stared at Christy for a few seconds.
“And some Apple Juice?” He asked.
Christy didn’t say anything. Once Jason saw that she wasn’t going to respond he laid his head back down on the cemented ground and resumed wailing, louder this time.
“Okay okay, Apple Juice too bae!”
Jason stopped and looked at her. “You pwomise?” He asked.
“Yes bae omg just please get up. People are staring at us.” She said.
Jason gave a wide smile, then he got up and started to dust his pants. Christy walked up to him and grabbed his hands and held it like a mother holding her child’s hand. She quickly turned to the opposite side and began to walk away, so as to escape the many pedestrians watching.
“I can’t believe you acted like that!” She said as she was holding Jason’s hand and walking away.
Once they got far away behind a warehouse Christy let go of his hands and folded her arms across her chest and looked at Jason angrily.
“Jason what is wrong with you?” She asked.
“What?”
“Why did you act like that?”
“Like what?”
“Like a baby, crying and screaming like that. All those people were starring.”
“I wasn’t acting like a baby.”
“Yes you was!”
“Why don’t you have any shame?” She asked.
Jason shrugged his shoulders. “Sometimes bae…” He started to say as he gazed above Christy’s head. She looked at him and waited for him to finish.
“Sometimes you have to act out to get what you want.” He said.
Christy looked at him and shook her head. She placed her left hand on her hip and pushed her tongue against the inside of her cheek as she stared at Jason. An Ice Cream truck then drove by and parked. Many small kids, between the ages of 3-10 crowded around the truck as they told the ice cream man what they wanted. Jason saw the truck and his eyes bulged out and became huge.
“ICE CREAM!” He said.
He then ran up to the truck and started looking at all the variety options. Once he saw what he wanted he turned around and ran back to Christy. She placed her hand on her forehead and began to rub it as soon as she saw Jason running to her.
“Bae please please PLEASE!” He said as he pointed to the ice cream truck.
“I want the Chocolate Crunch Bar and the Fudge Brownie Sundae!”
“No Jason!” She said.
“You already said that you wanted the Oreos.”
“Bae PLLEEEASSEE!”
“This is the last time Wallahi! I’m never gonna ask you for anything again.”
“Jason no! I don’t have any money.” She said.
Jason dropped his hand and looked at her. John then appeared above Christy’s head. Jason saw him but he didn’t say anything.
“She wanna play this the hard way bro!” John said.
Jason nodded his head slowly up and down. He knew John was right. There was only one way that Jason could get both the Ice Cream and the Oreos.
Jason turned around and walked to the side of the warehouse. He wrapped his hands around the outer wall, then he hugged it and quickly fell down. He began screaming and wailing.
“IT HURTSS!!!” He began screaming out loud.
“THE PAIN!”
“IT’S TREMENDOUS!”
“IT’S HORRENDOUS!”
Jason then placed his hands on the left side of his abdomen and began to rub.
“MY APPENDIX!” Jason hollered out as crocodile tears fell from his eyes.
A few of the people who saw the scene from previously when Jason was laid down close to the fire hydrant came around to the warehouse, they saw Jason as he was laid on the floor kicking his legs out and screaming. The driver from the ice cream truck also came out of his truck and started watching, along with a few of the kids. Christy quickly ran to where Jason was laid at on the side of the warehouse.
“OK YOU CAN GET THE ICE CREAM BAE!” She said.
Jason pretended like he did not hear her and he continued to wail. More people began to appear and watch.
“OMG I SAID YOU CAN GET IT JASON.” Christy said.
“And the Oreos?” Jason asked.
‘Yes babe, the Oreos and the Apple Juice too.” She said.
“Are you yanking my chain?” Jason asked.
“No babe, I’m gonna buy it all for you.”
Jason then stopped wailing and he got up off the floor. He turned halfway around and started walking to the ice cream truck, Christy followed behind him. Once he got to the truck he stopped and waited for Christy to catch up. All the kids and the ice cream man were staring at him. Jason didn’t notice. His gaze was fixed on the picture of the Chocolate Crunch Bar and the Fudge Brownie Sundae. Once Christy came up, Jason pointed to what he wanted.
“Omg.” Christy said as she began to rub in between her forehead. She then reached in her purse and pulled out a $20 bill and handed it to Jason.
“May I please get a Chocolate Crunch Bar and a Fudge Brownie Sundae sir?”
The Ice Cream man hesitantly took the money. He watched as Jason was on the floor kicking and crying, by his physical appearance, the Ice Cream Man suspected Jason to be a much older kid. Maybe in his late teens or early 20’s.
“Are you okay son?” The Ice Cream Man said to him as he took the money. Jason didn’t know what he was referring to. He was about to ask and then Christy came up from behind him and lifted her head.
“Yeah he’s fine, he just always acts like that.” She said.
Jason turned his head towards her. “Act like what?”
Christy didn’t say anything as she stared at Jason. A few seconds later the Ice Cream Man popped his head out the window with the Crunch Bar and Fudge Brownie. Jason reached in with his hand and grabbed them. He turned around and started walking alongside Christy.
“Bae what do I act like?” He asked as he bit into the Fudge Brownie.
“Nothing bae.” She said as she picked up her pace.
“Come on, it looks like it’s bouta rain, let’s get to the Barber Shop before…”
Jason came to a complete halt and stopped walking. Christy continued walking. Once she realized that she was not walking alongside Jason she also came to a complete stop, then she turned around and faced Jason.
“Why’d you stop walking?” She asked.
Jason didn’t say anything, he took one more bite of the Fudge Brownie. Then he turned around and began walking.
“Bae the store is THAT WAY!” Jason pointed and said.
“Omg…” Christy said.

“You want some?” Jason said as he handed Christy a piece of Oreo.
She lifted her hand up and shook her head. “I’m okay.”
“Ard bae let’s go to the Barber Shop now, my head wolfing!” Jason said as he placed his hands on top of his head and began to rub.
He then stuck his finger in his nose and pulled out a piece of boogie. He held it up in front of Christy’s face.
“EEEEEWWW!” She said as she turned around and began running the opposite direction.
Jason chased after her. “BAE WHERE YOU GOING?”
“DON’T YOU LOVE ME NO MORE?” He said as he held out the boogie and chased after her.
