What is the Religion of Islam
Islam is the true Religion that the sound mind supports, and it's appropriate for every age and time. It is the religion of all the Prophets from the first of them Adam to the final one Muhammad, may peace be upon them all. Linguistically Islam means "submission". According to Islamic terminology Islam means a specified submission. It is the submission to what the Prophet Muhammad brought. This takes place by uttering the two testifications of faith. The two testifications of faith are I bear witness that no one is God except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
Allah is the name of God in Arabic. Belief on the other hand linguistically means "certitude", according to Islamic terminology it means a specified certitude. It is to accept as true what the Prophet Muhammad bought. The least of belief is to believe in the two testifications of faith. Islam and belief cannot be separated, one of them is not accepted without the other, although their original meanings is not identical.
Imam Abu Haneefa said in his book: Islam is not accepted without belief and belief is not accepted without Islam. They are like the front of something and its back. Islam is the religion of all the Prophets keep this in mind. Muhammad was Muslim, Jesus was Muslim, Moses was Muslim, Abraham was Muslim. The religion of all the Prophets is Islam. May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala grant us the sincere intention and Allah knows best.
